Construction of a Datacenter
Dating back 30 years, the two current Datacenters have reached saturation. Adopted in 2017, the project to create a Datacenter takes account of the growth in the number of IT applications and volume of data stored, along with new issues at stake regarding mass file processing (Big Data).
It involves:
- ensuring the continuity and quality of service
- having a Datacenter in line with current standards
- improving energy efficiency
- prioritising hosting flexibility in order to adapt to HUG’s future needs and technological developments.
Given the major risk of interruption of service linked to housekeeping work in an active Datacenter, it was decided to create a Datacenter hosted off-site in the canton of Geneva.
