Mission of The Division of Digestive Surgery
The Division of Digestive Surgery of the University Hospitals of Geneva is in charge of adult patients suffering from diseases of the digestive tract, including the stomach, the pancreas and the intestines, whether they require a surgical intervention or not.
The division is recognized as a cutting-edge center that benefits from the latest surgical technologies, notably in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy and robotic surgery). In addition, optimized support is offered with standardized “fast track” protocols depending on the situation.
The team of the Digestive Surgery Division collaborates closely with specialists belonging to the divisions of gastroenterology, transplantation, digestive oncology, anesthesia, as well as diagnostic and interventional radiology. The patient is at the very center of the attention of the team throughout his or her treatment.
The Division of Digestive Surgery is a university reference center, and is the main division for digestive surgery in Switzerland in terms of number of beds.
