Commission de traitement des plaintes et hotline

In March 2021 the HUG set up a committee to deal with complaints of harassment and discrimination (CDH).

It has the authority to deal with complaints concerning attacks on personality, discrimination and harassment which are brought to its attention through various channels accessible to employees. To this end, a hotline run by the privacy unit is available to all HUG personnel.

The CDH is an internal body of the HUG. It formulates proposals for action to be taken in the situations which are submitted to it which are likely in particular to involve personal attacks relating to discrimination or harassment within the HUG, thereby ensuring consistent treatment and follow-up. The CDH decides on the follow-up procedure in each case and ensures regular monitoring. It may delegate cases depending on the circumstances to the :

  • Legal Affairs Directorate
  • Human resources manager or line manager
  • Privacy protection advisors
  • Staff health service.

Privacy Protection Unit

The privacy protection group, set up in 2010, aims to protect the privacy of employees and their physical and mental health.

It undertakes actions adapted to each situation and always in agreement with the person making the request. Qualified psychologists act according to the principles of confidentiality, impartiality and independence. Different services are offered depending on the situation and the wishes of the employee concerned: confidential interviews, mediation, investigations, coaching, training, auditing, team-building, etc.

The group typically handles several dozen complaints, which result in interviews, mediations, or the opening of complaint files. In 2022, the group heard 57 cases and referred 5 cases to the commission for the handling of complaints related to violations of personal rights, discrimination, and harassment (CDH).
