I feel sad, exhausted, unable to cope.
Is this the baby blues?
The baby blues occurs within 3 to 10 days after childbirth. The baby blues is not an illness but rather a reaction to a state of fatigue, drop in hormones and change in status: daughter, wife then mother.
It is relatively common, but must be taken seriously if it persists. Indeed, if this condition continues or worsens beyond 15 days, it is best to consult your physician without delay. The baby blues manifests in various forms: sadness, uncontrollable crying followed by laughter, hypersensitivity to comments (whether contrary or compliments), mood swings, feelings of worthlessness.
