The Division of Oncology of the Hôpitaux universitaires de Genève (HUG) treats both adult patients diagnosed with cancer and also those where cancer is suspected. The Division offers oncology consultations for all types of cancer, from the most common to the rarest.
The Division of Oncology monitors its patients throughout their treatment and offers supportive (FR) care in order to ensure the best possible quality of life for each patient for the duration of the disease.
The expertise of the teams along with their collaboration with a network of French-speaking specialists and with the Cancer Center at the HUG ensures that multidisciplinary and personalized care can be provided.
The Division of Oncology works in synergy with the Division of Hematology, the Division of Radio-Oncology (FR), the Division of Clinical Pathology, the Divisions of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and the Divisions of Surgery at the HUG.
The Division also offers oncogenetics consultations in collaboration with the Division of Genetic Medicine. These are aimed at people concerned about the potential risk of developing cancer due to their family case histories. The objective is to screen for genetic predispositions to cancer and to develop monitoring and prevention programs for patients at risk.
Finally, the Division of Oncology at the HUG plays a very active role in research (FR), both into therapeutic solutions and improvements in treatments. As part of its clinical trials remit, it provides access to innovative treatments which are a huge source of hope for those with the disease.
