Within the Bacteriology Laboratory, the scientific personnel includes a staff of 30 technicians (23 positions). They analyze around 100,000 samples for hospitalized patients each year and this corresponds to:

  • 20 000 hemocultures
  • 20 000 urine analyses
  • 20 000 smears
  • 10 000 respiratory system samples
  • 6 000 fecal samples
  • 5 000 samples to detect mycobacteria
  • 5 000 others samples related to sexually transmitted diseases.
