Dr Jeremy MeyerDr Jeremy Meyer is consultant surgeon in digestive surgery and in colorectal surgery at the University Hospitals of Geneva. He is also coordinator and founding member of the Colorectal Cancer Center, which is the first and only certified center in French-speaking Switzerland.

Dr Jeremy Meyer originates from Geneva, where he studied at the Collège de Saussure and obtained his medical degree from the University of Geneva.

Subsequently, he trained in surgery, first at the University Hospitals of Geneva, and thereafter internationally at the University Hospital of Cambridge (Addenbrooke's Hospital, United Kingdom) and at the North Brabant regional hospital of Breda (Amphia Ziekenhuis, Netherlands). Dr. Jeremy Meyer also acquired in-depth training in robotic surgery on the Da Vinci Xi platform (Intuitive Surgical) as part of an official competitive fellowship of the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP).

This training in expert centers of international reputation allowed him to obtain solid expertise in general surgery, in digestive surgery, as well as in colorectal and proctological surgery, and was validated by the following specialist titles:

Specialist in general surgery (FMH, Switzerland) Specialist in visceral surgery (FMH, Switzerland) Specialist in colorectal and proctological surgery (FEBS, Europe) Specialist in minimally invasive surgery (FEBS, Europe).

Interested in pushing the boundaries of knowledge, Dr Jeremy Meyer also conducted a university career and worked for three years at the Surgical Research Unit and at the Laboratory for Cell Therapies, both belonging to the University of Geneva. During these years, he performed islets of Langerhans transplantation for treating diabetes, investigated the mechanisms of liver regeneration and performed epidemiological studies. His work was awarded by several research grants and research awards, as well as the following titles:

  • Doctor in Medicine (MD)
  • Doctor in Medical Sciences (PhD)
  • Certificate of Advanced Studies in Clinical Research (CAS)

Dr. Jeremy Meyer has published more than 150 scientific articles in specialized medical journals as well as 6 chapters in surgery books, and was invited as a speaker at numerous national and international conferences. His H-index is 24.

Dr. Jeremy Meyer currently holds the following positions:

  • Consultant surgeon in Digestive surgery at the University Hospitals of Geneva, with expertise in colorectal and robotic surgery
  • Coordinator of the Colorectal Cancer Center of the University Hospitals of Geneva
