Doctor Elisabeth Andereggen is Consultant surgeon for the Emergency Division and is responsible for its surgical unit.
She studied medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Geneva, where she obtained her federal diploma in 1990.
During her post-graduate training, Doctor Andereggen worked for two years in the Cell Transplantation Laboratory of the University Hospitals of Geneva (transplantation of islets of Langerhans). Afterwards, she undertook a training in surgery at the University Hospitals of Geneva, then at the Hospital of Yverdon. Doctor Andereggen obtained her FMH specialist diploma in surgery in 2002.
Since 2008, she is in charge of the surgery unit of the Emergency Department and shares her activity between the Emergency Division and Digestive Surgery Division. She is very involved in pre- and post-graduate medical education.
