The HUG has obtained Equal-Salary certification which confirms and guarantees that the institution offers equal pay to its female and male staff for the same work.
The Equal-Salary certification is based on a transparent methodology aimed at companies with 50 or more employees (of which at least ten are women) that want to promote equal pay for women and men. It consists of an analysis of salary statistics confirming and informing that female and male staff receive the same salary for equal work.
The analysis conducted within the HUG covered 12,968 employees (68.1% women and 31.9% men). The factors taken into account in the analysis were the age of the person, seniority, hierarchical status, function, level of training, salary grade, generic function, place of work and annuity.
The analysis showed an average difference of 0.3% between women and men. Therefore, the HUG successfully satisfy the equal pay criteria as set out in the certification framework, which requires that this gap be below the 5% tolerance threshold
This certification is part of a continuous improvement process and fits perfectly and logically into the ambitious measures put in place in terms of equality and inclusion.
