Activities in the Tropical and Humanitarian Medicine Division are focused on two sectors: tropical medicine and travel (FR), and humanitarian medicine (FR).
These activities include the following scopes:
Global vision: The Tropical and Humanitarian Medicine Division manages its own international cooperation projects and provides both organization and secretariat services for the Geneva Health Forum.
An interface : The Tropical and Humanitarian Medicine Division is the HUG point of contact for the various external partners seeking specific expertise to develop their cooperation project or consultancy. In fact, the HUG has a broad range of skills and pool of expertise.
A national platform: The Tropical and Humanitarian Medicine Division takes part in a national platform designed to set up an interactive network for Swiss projects in international medical cooperation. A study is currently under way to identify and categorize the various existing projects in this area in Swiss hospitals and clinics.
A division for the HUG: Within the HUG, the Tropical and Humanitarian Medicine Division collaborates with the Humanitarian Affairs Commission. This commission promotes and coordinates international projects of the various HUG divisions, projects where the division provides fulfillment support.
