The Division of Prison Health is part of the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG). It operates independently of correctional and judicial authorities. The practices of the SMP are based on recognized principles and regulations (FR).
The activities of the Division of Prison Health (SMP) fall under the following scope:
- Medical unit at the Champ-Dollon prison
- Hospital cell unit (UCH)
- Consultation for adolescents at "La Clairière"
- Mobile Correctional Care Team
