The main objective of the HUG Hypnosis Program (HHP) is to offer patients a new type of relational care using clinical hypnosis, which has been successful in many situations encountered in a hospital.
The HHP includes an institutional program to establish a network and train doctors and caregivers who are interested in this... to allow patients who are interested in this to get treatment from a trained hypnotherapist.
The training program - exclusively targeted to HUG medical and health care staff - is based on two tiers:
- Therapeutic communication, which applies to all caregivers and doctors who are interested in this. The training aims to reteach the correct use of words so that they are well-chosen, to eliminate the use of offensive words and for communication to activate each patient's resources in a positive way.
- The hospital's clinical hypnosiscaters to divisions that want their caregivers to be trained in this relational tool and to integrate it into their professional practice.
The HUG Hypnosis Program is part of the Patients as Partners Project in the 20/20 strategy. Its objective is to develop the institutional culture of the partnership at each step in patient care.
