The trend in major European university hospitals, as well as in private laboratories, is towards the consolidation of laboratories by setting up an automation and consolidation of techniques and equipment.
This automation will reduce the amount of laboratory equipment and reallocate human resources to perform more value-added tasks, particularly for specialized analysis. The new organization of the future building for laboratories will involve reorganizing existing functions and the creation of new jobs.
New functions will be developed to meet the needs of BATLab and synergies will be created between BATLab and the Swiss Professional Association for Technicians in Biomedical Analysis (LABMED) for the development of training and continuing education.
