The Beau-Séjour Division of Rehabilitation and Internal Medicine (SMIR Beau-Séjour) has been recognized by the FMH as being Level A for training in general internal medicine.
Pre-graduate Education
Senior and university physicians at the Beau-Séjour SMIR are heavily involved in pre-graduate education and specifically in the following courses:
- ”Individual, Health and Society” course (Introductory unit to clinical approaches)
- Course on doctor-patient relationships
- Teaching clinical skills, semiology and learning in the clinical environment
Postgraduate training
Senior and university physicians at the Beau-Séjour SMIR contribute to HUG postgraduate education, specifically in the following areas:
- Relational and psychosocial aspects
- Clinical and pain epidemiology.
A structured postgraduate training program is set up for physicians and trainees involved in the division.
Continuing education
Senior and teaching physicians at Beau-Séjour SMIR participate in teaching continuing education in the following areas:
- Pain (Eurospine and Swiss Association for the Study of Pain (FR)) and care quality (Advanced studies diploma in care quality and safety (FR))
- Psychosomatic and psychosocial medicine (Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Psychosomatic and Psychosocial Medicine (FR))
They also contribute to conferences and symposia in Switzerland and abroad.
