Who is eligible ?
Anyone in good health, aged between 18 and 60 and weighing over 50 kilos, can donate blood. For regular donors with no medical problems, donation can be extended to age 75. A man can donate 4 times a year, a woman 3 times a year.
In addition to these basic requirements, the blood transfusion Centre (CTS) team checks the suitability of each donor on the spot by means of a medical questionnaire (which must be printed double-sided on a single A4 sheet of white or recycled paper, or filled out on site), a confidential interview and biological tests.
This control is essential to guarantee your safety and that of your blood products. Please also read the Transfusion CRS Switzerland Mandatory standards or ”prescriptions” information form.
